Frankly Speaking with Warren Egan

In our latest series, Frankly Speaking, we talk to Warren Egan about life in Knight Frank and his recent move from Office Agency to the Valuations department.

Warren joined Knight Frank in 2019 as a graduate surveyor in our offices team. Having learned his trade in Offices, Warren has recently joined the Valuations team in a move towards getting his APC accreditation. In our ln our latest ‘Frankly Speaking with Warren Egan’ we ask Warren about his recent move.

Tell us a little about your career to date in Knight Frank?

In my 3rd year of college, I was fortunate to gain internship experience in the offices team at Knight Frank. After graduating from Property Economics in TUD, I joined the office agency team on a full-time basis. From day one I was fully immersed in the role, getting hands on experience immediately!

The office team is hugely experienced, and it was great to be learning from people who know the industry inside out. The wider team in Knight Frank were all very welcoming and the social aspect of things made it easy to settle in.

Warren Egan (2)

I am keen to progress in my career and since I joined the company my main goal was to become a chartered surveyor. My colleagues in Knight Frank have kindly assisted me with the opportunity to gain experience in the Valuations department as a step towards achieving this goal.

What do you enjoy most about working in the Valuations team at Knight Frank?

Moving from the Offices department to the Valuations department has been a positive experience. Valuations has provided me with a greater understanding of the different asset types and the overall market in general. For example, one day you could be valuing a mixed use building in the City Centre and the next day you could be assisting with a value on forestry in West Cork. This diversity is something that I enjoy, no two days are ever the same.

My colleagues in the Valuations department are extremely helpful and provide assistance whenever necessary. There is a real “team” environment in the department that creates a friendly atmosphere to work and learn.

Next up my APC exams!!
