Knight Frank Ireland has strengthened its Cork business with the appointment of highly experienced commercial property professionals Margaret Kelleher and Edward Hanafin as Directors.
The appointments represent a significant investment in Knight Frank’s Cork business, which launched earlier this year, and further strengthen the firm’s commercial property offering across the Munster region.
Kelleher and Hanafin have decades of commercial property experience spanning agency, professional services, valuations, landlord and tenant consultancy, acquisitions and development advisory. Both are members of the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland’s Panel of Arbitrators and Independent Experts, with Kelleher also a Fellow of both the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, and Hanafin an RICS Registered Valuer.
Working alongside David McCarthy and the existing Cork team, they will advise clients across agency, professional services, valuations and strategic property consultancy while drawing on Knight Frank’s national and international network.

David McCarthy, Director and Head of Cork Office at Knight Frank Ireland, said:
“Margaret and Edward are highly respected property professionals whose experience and market knowledge will be a tremendous asset to our Cork business. Their appointments reflect our continued investment in the region and our ambition to grow our presence across Ireland while combining deep local expertise with the strength of Knight Frank’s global network. This enables us to provide clients with market-leading advice, backed by international reach and specialist sector expertise.”
Declan O’Reilly, Director of Knight Frank Ireland, added:
“The launch of our Cork office marked an important step in the continued growth of Knight Frank Ireland. Bringing Margaret and Edward into the business builds further depth within our team and strengthens our ability to support clients across Munster. Their experience complements our existing capabilities and reinforces our long-term commitment to the region.”
Margaret Kelleher said:
“Knight Frank’s ambition for Cork, backed by one of the world’s leading property consultancies, presented a compelling opportunity. I’m delighted to be joining such a talented team at an exciting stage in its growth and look forward to helping clients achieve their property objectives across the region.”
Edward Hanafin added:
“Cork continues to evolve as one of Ireland’s most dynamic commercial property markets. Joining Knight Frank provides an exciting opportunity to combine deep local knowledge with global reach, enabling us to deliver even greater value and insight to our clients.”
Kelleher and Hanafin most recently served as Directors at Cohalan Downing. Prior to that, both spent more than 30 years leading Lisney’s Cork office, where Margaret Kelleher also served as Chair.
